Messana
In this neighbourhood you trip over restaurants of the hip type. Typically Catalonian is the way it is really hidden in the narrow street, and also behind a wooden port, lays then, the immense Messana. This explains perhaps the undeserved small number of eaters. In the small cocktail lounge on the ground floor it’s dizzifying with the brightly coloured aperitifs. Pleasantly spinning from the first cocktail and the stairs, the sometimes too helpful staff lead us to a table on the first floor. Austere, high, white and conveniently arranged, with a few more intimate corners for when in company. Large, dark canvasses with Sicilian fish-art against the wall. (The fish in the photos hang on hooks too.) Compose a well-balanced choice of dishes from the affordable French-Spanish menu or order a refined combination of entradas… In spite of all the refined fish dishes: above all get your teeth into the juiciest tenderloin! The pepper sauce is cliché for sure but the taste more than compensates for that. Romantic trip? Let them shake two cocktails for you downstairs with the promising name “Hormonal”...Address
