The Drake Hotel
The Drake Hotel is easily the least pretentious spot in the city. It is a boutique hotel with fabulous dining and a phenomenal patio bar. Jazz quintets and musicians play in the lounge bar. After a drink you can move to the dining hall and enjoy a sumptuous feast that is daring, fresh and inventive. They love playing around with sushi and can surprise you with inventive creations such as a smoked duck breast roll. The regular fare is basic food done extremely well; seared tuna, free range chicken, rib steak and grilled peaches for dessert. When you are done, head upstairs to the open air patio and bar, fully tricked out with decking and lounge chairs. Don’t be surprised to find both a hula hoop and a twister competition under way. On a hot summer night it is great fun to sit there and watch the goings on while pounding back fruity drinks laced heavily with Gin. Smoking is permitted in this area only.Address
