Pontus by the sea

Located in the old town of Stockholm, in a building that has transcended from customs port office during the Swedish probation era to micro brewery, lies this seaside pride of restaurant culture in Stockholm. As the name implies seafood should be taken seriously once inside and the Grand Plateau will demonstrate the essence of this through one American lobster, four Fine de Claire oysters, one Swedish west coast crab, boiled marinated blue mussels and Italian vongole clams to be shared by the couple. The menu is traditional French brasserie style spiced with local fish dishes that changes monthly like the halibut with garniture Niçoise or Red Mullet with apples, capers and leek. The wine list contains various and delightful champagnes, serving a broad clientele with cunning and conservative selections at various price levels. If you are lucky you might stumble upon a variety show with strippers and drags where all the restaurateurs and yuppie in crowds gather. The interior reminds you of the days of brewing beer with large cupper casks but is otherwise seeking to look well designed but rather lavishing in mediocrity. Another perspective calls upon the venue as being pragmatic and willing to, with or without shows, serve you in a hectic tempo but with a genuine smile and a relaxed know how.
