Veselka
If you want a delicious meal in a trendy atmosphere, or friendly serving staff, go elsewhere, but if you can brave the Ukrainian cuisine, and don’t mind putting up with the fluorescent lights come to Veselka. The décor is wood paneling, windows all the way up to the ceiling and plants hanging from meat hooks. This is the place to go night or day for borscht or pirogues. The kielbasa, a traditional smoked pork sausage eaten with mashed potatoes served with an ice cream scoop, tastes much better than the hamburgers that are also on the menu. The crockery, also for sale at the bar, clatters loudly as the serving staff stack it in plastic tubs.
