Tía Pol
In this pencil-thin room, young couples and chic shoppers wait patiently to be seated at one of the small cast-iron tables arranged along the brick walls, while ceiling fans suspended from a burgundy ceiling rotate languidly. Don’t be surprised if your party of four is ushered to a tiny table for two. Squeezed together so closely that you barely notice the bustle in the rest of Aunt Pol’s place. Here you won’t find your traditional albóndigas and calamares fritos. This is the place for original tapas, such as Txipirones en su tinta (squid in ink with rice), Chorizo con chocolate and roasted baby chillies. Just look for the thick steel door with the specialties of the day chalked onto a blackboard. Wash down the Spanish delicacies with one of the few wines on the menu, or a Spanish beer. Go on a sangria bender and take a taxi home. Why do tapas actually get such a bad rep?Address
