Spice Market
Nominated the city’s best restaurant in 2004, and it’s still always busy! Right in the heart of the still hip & happening meat-packing district. An old yellow stone building with details from days gone by. Borrowed from the Buddha Bar in Paris: from the top floor, you look down on a large Buddha statue. The food is Asian fusion, with a strong tendency towards Thai. The expert waitresses are dressed in asymmetric saffron-colored tunics, just as unusual as the cuisine! This restaurant does not serve a traditional meal consisting of appetizer and main course, but the Asian version of tapas. Served on exquisite porcelain, banana leaves, in narrow shot glasses or a teapot. A highly varied selection of unusual dishes. Don’t let the bill scare you off.
