Kuchi

You want to spend the night in bars and pubs at Savignyplatz, a playground for Westberliners who do not need to get up early? No problem, if you are in good condition and your energy lasts until the crack of dawn. But make sure you are up to it: Kuchi, a recently refurbished and always busy restaurant, attracts locals as well as visitors to Berlin. A simple mission statement: sushi, grill and more. Orange lampshades, clear lines and a few dominant colours create an atmosphere for a talkative crowd that likes to celebrate itself. Maybe a bit too loud if you want to celebrate your 25th wedding anniversary with your spouse. But a casual place where most guests sit on benches and share the table with others. Which could be something special if you happen to have lunch or dinner German movie stars. The menu features a comprehensive selection of sushi, where you cannot go wrong. If you like maki sushi, try “My Best Friend’s” roll or the inside-out maguro roll. Makes a lot of sense to make reservations. If you don’t get a table, the take-away counter next door might be an option. Another Kuchi branch has opened in Mitte.
