Vientiane Kitchen

This is definitely not a posh-interior at Vientiane Kitchen and it seems then also like an open-air shed when you walk down from the busy Sukhumvit. But that’s why you come here for the food. For sure if you are a fan of spicy cuisine! Vientiane Kitchen is interesting for the food originating from Isaan, the poorest province of Thailand. Large pots, elephants and lantarns decorate the premises. Above all, the ever-present Christmas decorations sets the atmosphere. The menu brings the necessary smiles because of the Thai-English translations on the menu. Nevertheless, pull your chair up (or dine on the ground) and order a number of delicious dishes from Isaan in North Thailand and Laos. The scents and flavours are intense, complex, deep and make you curious. The service is polite and friendly. The live band is good, but it puts more energy into this place than it does atmosphere. Whoever knows Laos, knows that this absolutely fits into the notion of the real thing. For the die-hards, frog and cricket snacks are at-the-ready.
