Chesa
Ever imagined yourself eating cheese fondue or raclette in the tropics? At Chesa, you and your friends can dip pieces of bread or vegetable into a tasty melted cheese mixture seasoned with a dash of Kirsch. And of course, you wash this down with white wine or Schnapps. The wall is decorated with cowbells and cows’ heads, and the waitresses are dressed in Swiss-flag-style uniforms. There’s a medley of guests sitting at the round tables, ranging from families to noisy groups of friends and formal business partners. The owner (who is tall and Swiss) likes to recommend classic dishes to diners, although sometimes he’s a bit too enthusiastic. Besides cheese, specialities include rösti, bratwurst and wurstsalat, just like his mum used to make. And if you’ve still got any room left, you can finish off with chocolate fondue. But don’t be surprised if you find it all a bit more difficult to digest in the heat of Bangkok than up in the Alps.Address
