Saladaeng cafe
Finding Saladeang Café can be a problem, so ask for Jim Thomson’s café in soi 1. This charming house between the skyscrapers and high trees is a perfect little spot for casual eating. The patio is good during cool weather. This is when the neighbours, in the middle of all of the greenery, chatter and relax. Hanging on to a straw dangling in a tropical fruit juice or Thai iced tea and besides this it’s also perfect for lunch. Inside there’s a cosy and snug atmosphere. The terracotta walls and lively paintings combine well with the cane chairs and silk cloth, the cloth is of course from Jim Thomson himself. Should you have the ambition to feel as if you are host in your own house, reserve then the private space above the restaurant for a special occasion or just for fun. The Thai food is truly superbly delicious; try the shrimp bread rolls, roasted fish pasties and the pomolo-salad for sure! The curried duck is also a good tip. The dessert menu changes daily but mostly the thing that is a must to try is: roasted banana with ice cream.Address
