Anna's Café
Now an institution, the original Anna’s was conceived in the mid 1990’s to fill the void between tasty yet risky street food and overpriced Hotel fare. Splashed with colonial charm that befits era, the central Saladaeng garden setting is dwarfed among the CBD’s office towers. Bustling with local office workers, curious tourists and faithful expatriates, the food is honest, just as namesake Anna Leonowens ( and the King ) would expect. Stick to the Thai offerings, although the short Western menu is adequate for the less adventurous. Take a look at what the regulars are eating on the table next door. Fake a birthday and receive a complimentary desert from a renowned display of sentimental western favorites like Banoffee Pie and Sticky Date Pudding. The happy birthday chorus line, delivered by an eager floor staff, is sure to create some red faces. Tremendous value with solid street credibility. It is reassuring to eat Thai in a restaurant buzzing with Thais.Address
