Curries and More
The name says it all: this increasingly popular Thai restaurant has established a considerable reputation with its range of dishes. Situated in a two-storey house on Ruam Rudee in the city centre, “ Curries “ as the locals call it, serves a delightful variety of dishes. The menu is extensive and enchants guests with an embarras de richesse. You can do as the Thais do: order a number of dishes and share. Or better still, take the advice of the waiter and go through each course on the menu: soup (Tom Yum), followed by a stir-fry (vegetable, meat), a curry (Penang), and of course, the omelette is a must. Choosing a salad is more difficult, but Yum Sam Oh (pomelo) or Yum Tao Plu (winged bean) are both exquisite (Yum is the Thai word for salad). And if you can still manage it, try a Larp Gai (Northern Minced Chicken) as well, while brown rice provides a delicious and popular alternative. The service is attentive, but we don’t recommend the wines: they’re overpriced and poor quality. Beer or gin-and-tonic is a better choice. To finish off your meal, we suggest the aqua alfresco experience with mango, glutinous rice and coconut ice cream.Address
